Pépin · Louvre · Your Guides
Pépin is a small team of licensed art historians and tour guides, united by the same conviction: that a great tour changes the way you see. Educational, friendly, and always private.
In the Salle des États, in front of the Wedding at Cana
Pépin was born from a simple idea: that the best way to experience a museum is with someone who genuinely loves it. Our founder grew up in Paris, endlessly fascinated by its layers of history — from medieval remnants to the echoes of the French Revolution. He gave his first city tours in 2013, long before it became his profession.
After years of guiding independently, the ambition grew: to build a small team of guides who share the same values, the same rigour, and the same warmth. Every guide at Pépin has been personally chosen — for their expertise, yes, but above all for their ability to make history feel alive and relevant for any audience.
"History should be alive, accessible, and fun — for all ages, all backgrounds, all curiosities."
Every tour at Pépin follows the same philosophy: educational and friendly. We believe a great tour is a conversation, not a lecture. We adapt to your pace, your questions, and what genuinely moves you — whether that is a painting, a sculpture, or a story that connects the past to the present.
We work exclusively with private groups. Every tour is fully dedicated to you — no shared groups, no strangers, no compromises. It means every visitor gets real attention, every question gets a real answer, and every tour feels like it was designed just for you.
In 2026, the project took a name: Pépin. A French word that says it all — we plant seeds. Every tour is an opportunity to spark a curiosity that lasts well beyond the museum walls. Not just a visit, but a new way of seeing.
Guides-conférenciers — Licensed Tour Guides
Every guide at Pépin holds the carte professionnelle nationale de guide-conférencier — the mandatory professional licence required by French law to guide tours in national museums and monuments. All our guides are fully authorised to operate within the Musée du Louvre, and have developed a deep expertise of its collections, history, and layout.
Ongoing training & personal research
Our guides pursue continuous education in art history, including through the continuing education programmes of the École du Louvre. Beyond formal training, each guide cultivates a personal relationship with the collection — returning regularly, following current research, and deepening their knowledge of the works they present.
Featured in the press
Through his involvement with professional guides associations and cultural volunteering, our founder has been featured in Le Monde, Libération, France Inter, L'Essentiel, and Paris Un Deux Trois Quatre.
